The square slates are mounted diagonally on the roof, point down. This type of slate roofing requires the least overlap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For small and medium sizes, you need about 1.4 m\u00b2 of roofing slate per m\u00b2 of roof surface. The laying tables are calculated with a 50 mm overlap for small and medium sizes. For the very largest sizes, the overlap is 100 mm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each size of square slate has matching eaves, ridge and gable slates. Eaves and ridge slates have the same shape and size. The gable slate is half a square slate, split vertically from point to point.
